TripPrep Tools aggregates public data to provide our calculators. We believe you should know exactly where this data comes from.
1. Currency Exchange Rates
Our Currency Converter pulls live mid-market exchange rates via the Frankfurter API, which tracks reference rates published by the European Central Bank (ECB). These rates are updated every working day around 16:00 CET.
2. Time Zone Data
The Time-Zone Meeting Planner relies on the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) Time Zone Database, which is built directly into modern web browsers via the Intl JavaScript API. This ensures daylight saving time calculations are always based on the latest international standards.
3. Algorithmic Calculators
Tools like the Jet-Lag Planner and Luggage-Weight Converter use static, scientifically-backed mathematical formulas that run entirely in your browser without external API dependencies.
